Marcel Wanders – the Elvis Presley of design – as he’s sometimes called, graduated with honors from the Academy of Fine Arts in Arnhem in 1988. He is one of the founders of a design group called Droog Design established in 1995 in Amsterdam. A year later, he designed the legendary Knotted Chair made of braided cord impregnated with epoxy. In 2001, he created the brand Moooi, later becoming its Art Director.

Wanders’ designs include objects for everyday use, from furniture, to lighting, carpets, wallpapers, decoration articles, to cosmetics, jewelry and electronic equipment. He also creates designs for public spaces. He works with global brands such as Alessi, Bisazza, KLM, Cappellini, Flos, Vista Alegre, Louis Vuitton, MAC, LG, Swarovski, Marks & Spencer, and Puma. His works are admired across the world and exhibited in major museums.
