Sense of Beauty

Three colors:
Red

The final installment of the trilogy and the last film by Krzysztof Kieślowski starring the legend of French cinema—Jean-Louis Trintignant and Irene Jacob—doesn’t cease to seduce us with its extraordinary, poetic atmosphere.

This Polish-French co-production with the scriptwriter Krzysztof Piesiewicz and composer Zbigniew Preisner asks questions about how relations between people are formed, what is the role of chance, what makes us meet and why we sometimes pass each other.
The titles of individual films of the trilogy refer to the colors of the French flag. The stories told are based on the slogan Freedom, Equality, Fraternity, from the times of the French Revolution. The trilogy is created by independent stories, taking place in Paris, Warsaw and Geneva, but the main characters of the particular “colors” meet in the final scene of Red.
